Barclays Premier League: August 20 Results Roundup

The second round of premier league games went under way earlier today and we’ve got some fantastic results for you. First up was the mouth-watering clash between Arsenal and Liverpool which ended in more heartbreak for the Gunners as The Kop ran away 2-0 winners with a little help from lady luck. With Frimpong’s red card, Arsenal now have more players sent off than they have points! Moving on, Aston Villa and Chelsea both recorded their first home wins of the season, while Everton and Sunderland both suffered shock defeats at home. BREAKING: India win ICC Cricket World Cup 2011!

Hosts India staged a magnificent run chase to beat co-hosts Sri Lanka by 6 wickets here at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, India.

Batting first, Sri Lanka a respectable 274-6, thanks to a well constructed century from Mahela Jayawardene.

In reply, India cruised home with 6 wickets and 10 balls to spare. Dhoni got the winning runs with a 6!

Gambhir top scored for India with 97. Dhoni was not out on 91.

India last won the World Cup 28 years ago in 1983, beating favorites West Indies in the final by 43 runs. India made 183 and West Indies made 140.

India beat Australia in nail-biting thriller

What a match! Just unbelievable! India have beaten Australia in the First Test Match at Mohali by a single wicket. There was plenty of drama and i’m sure many might have gotten mini heart-attacks too but in the end India nicked it from the Aussies by one wicket.

Final Scores:

  • Australia: 428 and 192
  • India: 405 and 216/9
  • India win by 1 wicket

Pragyan Ojha got the winning runs through leg-byes. VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma laid the foundation for the win with a stupendous performance from them. True heroes!
