Breaking:Apple to launch stores in India soon!

Just a couple of days ago Apple reinvented and redefined the textbook with iBooks 2 and now Apple plans to launch a Apple store in India.Currently it is not 100% sure but Apple is in talks to launch a store in India.Currently Apple sells its products via resellers like iStore,Maple,iMagine and others.Apple wanted to build a store in India but it wanted a 100% FDI in single brand retail and did not like merges. Now since FDI in retail for single brand is 100% Apple is all set to launch its store soon. This is only a rumor but with a high probability of materializing.

Though at this moment it is not sure in which city the store would be launched but a Apple store coming up in India is very likely.

If the above rumor is to come true, Indian’s will now be able to experience Apple 2.0 state-of-art retail stores in their own country.

It would be a dream come true for many Apple fans in India.

A closer look at Apple’s New Grand Central Station Store

After putting up considerable resistance, Apple executives finally let the Metropolitan Transportation Authority release renderings of the Apple store planned for New York’s famed Grand Central Station. As expected, Apple makes good use of the monumental space, keeping things clean and simple, and not taking anything away from the station’s classic architecture.

Standing at 23,000 feet, this Apple mega-store will be larger than any other store out there. To acquire this huge “mothership” plot, El Jobso paid previous tenant Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur restaurant $5 million to leave eight years before its lease was up. Apple will also be paying more in rent to the MTA: $1.1 million vs. $263,997, and is spending its own cash to improve the space with changes that include the installation of new elevators.

Construction work on the plot began earlier this week as Apple wants to have the store complete in time for the busy holiday season. Here’s a closer look at the store (click on image for larger view):

Microsoft does it again, shamelessly apes Apple

Seriously, when a company of Microsoft’s stature blatantly copies the work of its arch-rival Apple, simply because the latter made it big, you know what Steve Jobs and Apple have done to the world.

Zdnet‘s got a leaked screenshot of Microsoft’s App Store which, just like the name “App Store”, is a carbon copy of Apple’s showpiece. WTF!?!? Honestly speaking Mr. Steve Ballmer: Think Different! It would have been much better if some sort of consistency would have been maintained. . . .like naming it ‘marketplace’ like we have already seen in Xbox and other Microsoft-owned areas.

Buy Apps without a device!

Amazon’s upcoming App Store for Android will allow users to purchase apps from the store, even though they are yet to purchase a device to use those apps. It is basically to let users be prepared with their app arsenal and just pull the trigger the moment their device arrives. This one’s for the planners.

The exact time frame of the launch of the Android App store is still unknown, but we expect it to launch soon.

Meanwhile, its seems Android’s CEO has been following “pretty girls” off late 😉
