A new bird to join the Angry Birds clan this Halloween?

In the middle of the morning, the dead of the night, three Angry Birds went for a ride. As they were walking in the lonely forest, they spot something moving. The presence of someone unknown. Who is it? What could it be? A monster? A friend? An angrier creature? Oh wait, something just fell in the bucket there.

*The three birds move towards the bucket*

Whoa! It is…

England vs India T20: Preview

In 2007 India won the T20 World Cup in South Africa but this time India have to face the current World T20 champions England on their home soil. India lost the test series 4-0 and will play to win something in this England tour in the T20 and the one-day internationals. The Indian team has been completely plauged with injuries at the moment. Lets check out the team news.

Team News:

India will be without Virender Sehwag and probably Gautam Gambhir. They also might be without Harbajan Singh. England meanwhile have a very strong side. They are looking like the best team in the world. They look set to put in a full strength side.

India were thrashed in the test series. They lost their number #1 status in the world. Now they look to change all that by tasting some success in limited overs cricket. Their preparations have been good so far, winning their first second matches of this whole tour so far, winning the two T20 warm games.

What do you expect from this Indian cricket team tommorrow? Can they beat this England side?

Do drop in your comment 😀

No Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma in one day series!

After a disastrous performance in the test series vs england all eyes are not on the one day series but even before the one day series started India has suffered a huge blow.Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma are returning back home.

“Sehwag suffered from labyrinthithis of the left ear,” Srinivasan said in the statement.

As far as Sharma goes “Sehwag suffered from labyrinthithis of the left ear,” Srinivasan said in the statement.

We hope that they are fit and fine soon! India needs them.

Top 10 of Everything in Football: Defenders

This is part two of the series titled ‘Top 10 of everything in football‘. The next part, featuring the top 10 midfielders, will be published tomorrow. Part  one was about the top 10 goalkeepers. To make sure you don’t miss out, it’d would be smart to subscribe to our RSS Feed and Email Newsletter. You can also Follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook.

While the strikers score goals and take away all the credit its the defenders who try to stop the strikers from scoring. Defenders are the most important part of the team. They some times make saves which are worthy of a goal. Defenders need to be strong both physically and mentally. They need to be quick to fall back as well. Lets check out our top 10 defenders of Firstain.

10. Philip Lahm
One of the mainstays of the Germany team for several years, Lahm’s marauding runs from full-back are a good avenue of attack for Germany. The versatile Lahm is capable of shooting and passing with either foot, and enjoyed a fine 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

9. Nesta
Nesta has been the backbone of the Italy and AC Milan defenses over the years. He is strong, reliable and has the ability to instill fear in minds of opponents. He is one of the best defender in the world out there.

8. Maicon
Not for a long time has there been a right-back capable of having so much influence on a game. The Inter Milan defender’s forceful runs down the right provide a great avenue of attack, not only for him to cross the ball, but for his teammates who can occupy the space vacated by opposition players trying to arrest Maicon’s attacking stories. He has pace to burn and is a also a solid defender. Keeps the outstanding Barcelona right-back Dani Alves out of the Brazil team.

7. Sergio Ramos
Ramos has everything. He has skill, pace, strength, does not make costly errors, is versatile and scores a lot of goals for a defender. He is a sort of player who can KILL HIMSELF to win the ball.

6. Gerard Pique
Many at Barcelona believe this product of the club’s youth system will go on to captain the club someday. He was a key protagonist as Spain won the World Cup in South Africa last summer. A composed defender who is strong in the air and the tackle, Pique is also adept at launching his team’s attacks. And he even claims to know all of Cristiano Ronaldo’s tricks from their time together at Manchester United.

5. Ashley Cole
Cole is one of the few players over the years to have got to grips with Cristiano Ronaldo. At Euro 2004 he had one of his best games in an England shirt, matching the Portuguese star in a captivating battle. Since then, Cole has developed into arguably the best left-back in the world. He can get forward, score goals, cross the ball, and is Mr Reliable when on the back foot.

4. Carles Puyol
You need a beast to guard a cave. You need Puyol to defend the goal. He is the World’s most AGGRESSIVE defender and a shrewd leader with aggressive looks. Along with Pique, he was instrumental in Spain and Barcelona’s recent run of success.

3. Thiago Silva
The Brazilian has almost everything a good defender should have but is often ignored by everyone. A strong tackler and commanding in the air, the AC Milan center back was outstanding in the 2010-11 season as the Rossoneri won their first Italian title since 2004. Silva is so comfortable on the ball that he was even deployed in midfield by coach Massimiliano Allegri when injuries hit the squad. His performances prompted Milan to extend his contract until June 2016.

2. John Terry
An inspirational player who is never afraid to throw himself on the ball and save his goal. Can score goals as well which is a bonus. Meet John Terry — Mr. Chelsea!

One of the best defender in the world, Terry provides great support to Cech and also motivates everyone around him. With amazing positioning, he provides a great  link between Midfield and Defense and has a hunch for goals. A true leader on the pitch.

1. Nemanja Vidic
The Manchester United defender may not be playing in one of the most prominent national teams, but he helps form a defense that has been particularly stingy over the years. In qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, Vidic and his comrades conceded just one goal in 10 matches, a record that helped them top the group ahead of Spain. He has a commanding presence and can also pop up with goals from time to time.

Agree with my top 10? Disagree? Would you like to replace someone in my list with another player? Drop in a comment to share your views. I’ll be glad to hear 🙂

Apple goes for the kill against Samsung’s Galaxy devices

Apple is hell bent on getting Samsung’s Galaxy series devices, including smartphones and tablets, banned all over Europe, terming the latter “copycat” owing to the host of similarities between Apple’s and Samsung’s devices.

Taking on from where they left off, Apple has today asked a Dutch court to ban all Galaxy series devices, including the widely popular Galaxy S II, which has seen huge success all over Europe.

Apple’s complaint, seen by Webwereld, a Dutch IDG publication, seeks an injunction for the entire Galaxy series. This includes smartphones — the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy S and Galaxy SII — and tablets: the Galaxy Tab 7 and Galaxy Tab 10.1. Other Galaxy devices, like the Gio, Nexus, 551, Europa, Apollo and Mini are also involved, albeit only in a footnote in which Apple states, “It is expected that these devices are also covered by one or more of the patent rights invoked.”

It doesn’t end here. Apple has also resorted to bullying and ‘threatening’ Samsung’s partnered retailers to stop Galaxy sales immediately.

For the record we would like to mention the fact that by storing, offering and/or selling of the above mentioned Galaxy smartphones [and tablets], you commit infringement of the intellectual property rights of Apple Inc.

The trial will take place in The Hague, Netherlands September 15th, and the judge said  if he grants any injunctions, they would take effect no sooner than October 13, reported Webwereled (via 9to5Mac)

First Windows Phone 7.1 ‘Mango’ commercial goes viral (video)

The first Windows Phone 7.1 (it’s NOT 7.5) aka ‘Mango’ commercials have hit the web and, though not from Microsoft themselves, give a good indication of where the new OS’ marketing is heading towards.

The new commercial, put together by Japanese carrier KDDI, showcases several mysterious Windows Phone devices and outlines the main features of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS, including Xbox Live integration and a mobile version of Office. That said, the advert still fails to convince us properly. Probably they’ve left it for Microsoft to do that (?).

Anyway, here’s the Mango advert we’re talking about:

J.K. Rowling teases future Harry Potter plans; Series to continue?

With the final film in the Harry Potter series — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 — all set to hit theaters July 15, author J.K. Rowling has thrown up a huge surprise, possibly weaving the series wide open again.

The author continued with her magical creations by revealing a new website, interestingly called Pottermore. The website features a logo, J.K. Rowling’s signature, the message “Coming Soon”, and a link to a YouTube channel which features a countdown clock ticking away the seconds to an announcement Rowling will make at 7 a.m. this coming Thursday, June 23.

Digitalspy.com reports that 10 Harry Potter fan sites were each given clues that led to a letter in the alphabet.  After all the websites pieced the letters together, they discovered Pottermore.com’s address.

A Twitter account has also been created: Twitter.com/pottermore.  A tweet on the page declares, “Looks like the owls are getting ready to deliver some exciting news,” and directs visitors to Pottermore.com.

The odds are pretty high on J.K. Rowling extending the Harry Potter series by penning another book, but then again, it could also be a damp squib. What are your thoughts?
