Barclays Premier League: 15th October — Results Roundup

The Barclays/English Premier League (BPL/EPL) action is back after a 2 week gap (international break) and what better way to kick start the weekend than a showdown between Liverpool and Manchester United – arguably the biggest rivalry in the premier league. Both the Reds have a tremendous history behind and are managed by two legendary managers – King Kenny (Kenny Dalglish) and Emperor Ferguson (Sir Alex Ferguson).

The game was a tight affair in the first half but opened up completely in the second. Liverpool opened the scoring through a Steven Gerrard free kick – Gerrard of course returning from a long time out on the sidelines through a groin injury – and for United it was the little Mexican Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez who equalized with a nicely executed header. The match ended 1-1.

Other notable fixtures included Aston Villa’s visit to Manchester City, where a win for the hosts could take them top of the table thanks to United’s stalemate at Anfield, and Bolton’s clash with Wigan.

Here are all the results from the day’s action:

iPhone 5 64GB (really?)

While there is much speculation about how the next iPhone from Apple will be, there isn’t any clear cut evidence of either its form factor or of its features. In such a situation what do you expect? Of course you take cue from the available mockups/knockoffs like this one, or this one, or this one, or this one, or this one. OR, you can also take an imaginative or an artistic look at it. But any way you look at it, it surely won’t be anything like THIS:

Ha ha!

Apple was rumored to have delayed the iPhone 5 till September of this year, which was later confirmed by analysts. But some recent rumors point to an October release (which they again say is confirmed). If you’re the type who likes to tread on all rumors available, then skip straight to our iPhone 5 rumor roundups here, here, here, here and here.

Also, don’t forget to check out the fake iPhone 5 from China and another sophisticated one with built-in stylus!

An artistic look at iPhone 4S/5

With rumors concerning the next iPhone (4S/5) heating up, Infographic Labs have come out with a rumor roundup of their own, adding an “artistic” touch to it. All of their assumptions seem perfect apart from iCloud integration which we think will have 100% possibility. What are your thoughts? (Click image for larger view)

With the WWDC slated from June 6-10 this year, we very well believe we could be treated to the much awaited iPhone 5 at the event itself, given Apple’s trend. But then again, there are rumors that WWDC 2011 will only be a software show with nothing at all in the hardware department, and that the iPhone 5 has been delayed till September. We’re confused. What are your thoughts?

Football Roundup: Scholes’ 100th saves ManUtd’s blushes; Arsenal move to joint 2nd; Pompey advance to semis of FA Cup; Roma-Milan cancel each other out; Barca drop points; Real get dramatic come-from-behind win

Paul Scholes
Scholes got the decisive goal, his 100th in the premier league, to take United to the summit

Paul Scholes was the Saviour for Manchester United as the Red Devils edged past a determined Wolves  thanks to a 100th League goal for the veteran Englishman. Although United have moved to the top of the league temporarily, it was no where near a satisfying performance from the reigning champions.

Arsenal also kept pace with the leaders, winning 3-1 against 2nd from bottom Burnley, but made hard work of the win. And injury to influential captain Francesc Fabregas will not help their cause either.

Football Roundup: Arsenal win but match marred by horrific Ramsey injury; Barca scrap through while Real win comfortably

Arsenal came from behind to beat Stoke in a match marred by an horrific injury to Welsh teenager Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal left it really late to keep their title hopes alive but the talking point surely has to be the horrific injury to Aaron Ramsey inflicted by Ryan Shawcross, who hours later was selected by England Boss Fabio Capello for the side to face Egypt in a friendly on Wednesday

Pugh gave Stoke an early lead from a typical Delap throw-in but his effort was soon cancelled out by a brilliant header from Bendtner.

Fabregas then scored his 13th goal of the season from the spot in the 91st minute and then Vermaelen put the game to bed with an easy goal at 94 minutes.
