More delays for White iPhone 4: This time it’s manufacturing problems

Will the White iPhone 4 ever launch? That’s the question not only me, but thousands of others might be asking Apple, who are eagerly awaiting the launch of Apple’s most controversial product in a White avatar.

Apple has yet again delayed the launch of the White iPhone 4, citing manufacturing problems this time. Here’s their PR:

White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

This means all you poor guys will have to wait it out a little more longer to get your hands on the White iPhone 4.

Or, if you are in a rush to get that precious ‘White’ gem before everyone else does, then you might consider doing this!

A bit more on the iPhone 4, if you time…

Some more news from Apple, but this time shifting the focus away from the highly controversial iPhone 4. This time, we talk about the iPad.

Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore are the lucky countries this time who can get their hands on “all models of iPad” – namely the 3G and WiFi models.

Buy a 2011 Hyundai Equus and get an iPad free

Hyundai have introduced a large, rear-drive luxury sedan aimed at the Mercedes S-Class, Lexus LS, Jaguar XJ (and other top-notch sedans) named the 2011 Hyundai Equus!

That’s not the main purpose of this post, though. It appears Hyundai, in lieu of having an established status brand, has come up with some innovative ways to pamper Equus customers who will be expected to spend between $50,000 to $60,000 on the car.

For scheduled maintenance, Hyundai dealers will pick up Equus models from owners’ homes, leave a loaner car, and then return the Equus after service. In addition, instead of the usual 300-page owners manual, buyers will receive a virtual owner’s manual on an Apple iPad (which they can also use to schedule service appointments and operate other apps).

“Nobody wants to go to the dealership, not even a Lexus or BMW dealer,” John Krafcik, Hyundai’s CEO in North America, said in the report.

Microsoft: 64GB Zune HD launching April 12th; Current models get price cut

  • 20 hours of high definition video from Zune Marketplace

Microsoft have also announced details of an upcoming firmware update which will add even more features to the device, such as Smart DJ auto-playlists directly on the Zune HD, ability to browse, stream and acquire music from Zune Marketplace on your TV (while the device is connected to a TV set through the A/V dock) and expanded codec support allowing users to play more video formats natively from the device.

iPad launch delayed. In-store pickup also not available

As if your wait wasn’t long enough, Apple wants you to wait even further before getting your hands on their revolutionary product – the iPad.

As against the initial launch of the iPad on 3rd April, you will now have to wait till the 12th April – 9 days more – to get your hands on one, according to Apple’s website.

This means all WiFi models have been delayed and this could be because of the heavy demand for it (which was expected).

Also, forget about reserving one for in-store pickup.  That’s over too!

Apple iPad: $20 discount if you are a student

Apple Education Store has come up with a new campaign which brings $20 off on iPads if you pre-order one of the multi-packs (Pack of 10 iPads) from the Apple Education Store in US. Apple education discount is a great way for teachers and staff of K-12 schools, and the students, lecturers and staff of college and universities to take advantage of great pricing and saving deals.

If you order one of these packs, you will save close to $20 on a single iPad in the 10-Pack bundle. Price details for Wi-Fi version of iPad 10-Pack can be seen in the image below.

iPad Discount for Students

Simply head over to Apple Education Store site here, select your school/college, then select iPad Multipack and you are good to go!

The discounts are relatively minor though, with only $20 off of each iPad in a set of 10, or $40 off per iPad if they are ordered with AppleCare.

The iPad 10-packs are shipped in a single box, which eliminates individual packaging. In addition to the ten iPads, the packs contain ten power adapters, ten USB-to-Dock cables, and one set of documentation. Currently, only the WiFi models are available in the educational 10-packs.

This is an early sign that Apple will aggressively pursue the iPad as an educational tool.

The iPad 10-packs begin shipping in April.

Apple Time: New 27 inch LED Monitor and a Mac Pro update on the cards

Apple is never short on rumours. This time, the talk is regarding something which could turn out to be more than just a rumor. Apparently, the Cupertino company would be preparing the launch of new 27-inch LED Cinema Displays and, besides that, an update in its Mac Pro line.

There won’t be any technological changes in the display though, because, according to some reports, the new displays will be similar to the 24-inch ones that already exist in the market, which were introduced in October 2008.

With this, the company would pretend to introduce another additional screen with similar size to the 27-inch iMacs that have had a successful reception. This thinking is really logic, so the introduction of a device with these characteristics to generate some additional money for Jobs and his company is not an unrealistic plan, but rather a reasonable move.

But why now and not before? Well, a possible reason is that Apple would have been waiting for a fall in the high price of LCD panels that support a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, but apparently, the new products are being developed since a long time ago.

On the other hand, regarding the Mac Pro computers, the updates are related to the use of Intel Xeon Processors: The Xeon 5600 Series (12 cores) will be used in new Mac Pro models, while another version will be using a single processor model, with only six cores and a lower price.

iPhone Goes Green, Gets Solar Surge

We all know that the iPhone is one power-hungry gadget. And if you are caught in a situation where you are expecting an important call and your iPhone just dies on you, it is downright irritating, perhaps even leading up to you losing out on that business deal.

To solve your problems, and also helping a bit of Green cause in the process, Novothink’s got ‘your back’ with their very own iPhone case which is compatible with the iPhone 3G as well as iPhone 3GS models.

Boasting a solar panel on the back that will help juice up your precious handset wherever you go, it will also give your handset a classy look and at the same time not hamper the usability of the iPhone. You will still gain full access to the touchscreen display.

Being durable as well as lightweight, it keeps your conscience clear knowing that you are doing your part in helping combat global warming without having to  compromise on anything.

Best buy: $79.95
