Poonam Pandey desperate to bare it all (Update: Video!)

Update: See video at the bottom!

The hype surrounding Poonam Pandey’s promise, that she will strip naked if Team India wins the Cricket World Cup is getting intense with every passing minute. The fans are getting restless to see the 19 year old model bare it all. But they may be in for some disappointment here, if recent reports are something to go by.

Poonam Pandey, a 19-year-old model and one of the top eight contestants of Gladrags’ model hunt contest last year has made a lot of headlines recently when she said she is ready to strip if India gets the World Cup back home. She made this controversial offer on Twitter just before the semifinal clash against Pakistan in Mohali. And now that India have emerged champions, people are anxious to see the teenager fulfill her promise.

But there is some bad news: while we don’t know she may or she may not strip, if she does, it will be only for Team India. Nothing for the general public!

The model has written a letter to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) asking them for permission to go ahead and fulfill her promise. Without BCCI’s approval, there will be no show.

She sent an official letter to the board, saying going naked for the team would have a “therapeutic” effect on Team India and help them win. The letter read:

“..I want India to win the Cricket World Cup 2011 and am willing to go the extra mile to do anything so that India wins the World Cup. I am ready and willing at any place and time of the Indian teams choosing to go in the nude to boost their sporting spirit to perform better.

…many studies conducted by various universities abroad which confirms and infers that such performances/expectations boost and inspire people to perform better in any field, be it sports or otherwise. Even medical books on psychology and psychiatry confirms this.”

Apparently, she made a “humble request” to be allowed to “perform in the privacy of the Indian cricket team’s dressing room or any other place of your choosing”. She suggested “a foreign land like Paris in France, so that the Laws of India – if a hindrance, shall not apply”. It would act like a “private therapeutic performance with a psychologist’s presence” and “cannot be an offence under any law for the time being in force if the team members have no objection and the BCCI gives the go ahead”.

“So far she is flooded with many offers from India and world wide. Right from Indian reality shows to international magazines. More than that, she got a huge half million dollar offer from an international magazine to pose nude for their cover, but she rejected it as the act to go nude was only meant for team India to get home the World Cup and not to make fame and money. She is on cloud nine as India won the cup,” said Poonam’s manager Vipin M.

According to Vipin, the model has been getting threatening calls from moral police and she is avoiding taking calls or talking to anybody in person unless she gets an approval from BCCI.

Whatever she does, i personally feel this is just a ‘desperate’ and ‘immature’ move by the teenager and should not be entertained by the media or anyone else.

iPad stocks decline, confirm iPad 2’s arrival

Many retailers across Europe are slowly beginning to finish off their stock of iPads, confirming the rumors that the second-generation iPad is not far away from us. It has always been like that — whenever an Apple product’s status is changed to ‘sold out’ or ‘on sale’, it usually means a refresh is expected for that product. And that’s exactly what we are beginning to see at some retailers across Europe.

Via 9to5mac:

First, official reseller Carphone Wearhouse in the UK is now sold out of the 64 GB WiFi-only iPad. Even more interesting is the iPad 3G’s situation: all models are sold out at Carphone Wearhouse.

Next, official iPad 3G carriers in Europe  – Orange and T-Mobile have both slashed their iPad 3G prices in half for customers who sign 2 year contracts. That means you can now get an iPad 3G in Europe for only £99.99.

Major European product distributor Ingram Micro is now sold out of the 16 GB WiFi-only model, 64 GB WiFi-only model, and 64 GB WiFi + 3G model. They are also very low on stock of the 32 GB WiFi-only model, 32 GB WiFi+3G model, and 16 GB WiFi+3G model.

This really clears all doubts (from our minds at least) that the iPad 2 is soon incoming from Apple, probably sometime in March/April. What’s your say?

In the meantime, why don’t you check out the iPad 2 review (Yes, you read that right!)

REAL Apple White iPhone 4s have arrived!

While the whole world is craving for an official White iPhone 4 from Apple, somewhere down the lanes in a Grey market area in China, these White iPhone 4s are selling like hot cakes, though also leaving a large hole in the buyers’ pockets!

Back in October, when Apple completely removed the White iPhone 4s from their Online Store, the fate of the prestigious hot property was all but sealed. Attentions were then focused on the 5th generation of the iPhone. But now, with REAL Apple WHITE iPhone 4s flying around in China, can we see a comeback of sorts of the rare commodity?

The Grey markets in China are seeing Apple-only White iPhone 4s being sold, containing a label that reads “for internal use only.” These gadgets are running on iOS4.1 and are locked to AT&T, meaning no other carrier is allowed on sale. The pricing, however, is a major concern, though, those who want to satisfy their ego would be willing to shell out $828 to $1024 for a 16GB model, and a lot more for a 32GB model.

While we await an official word from Apple, you can head over to China if you’re hell bent on getting yourself a piece of the White goody. Rest assured, you’re bound to end up with a few jealous neighbors 😉

Another iPad competitor, This Time by RIM

As the rumors suggest we will soon see a RIM pad in the market. It would be great to see what this new Tablet has got to enhance the tablet market. Surely it will run an OS similar to that of an Blackberry but seeing very less success of the Blackberry in recent times it would be great to see if RIM come out with a new and altogether different OS for the RIM pad that is expected to launch next week.(rumor)

Also it will be great to see what kinds of models are launched by RIM. According to Firstain guessing there will be only a 3G+wifi model and no only Wifi model. The simple reason for stating this is that RIM over the years has gained 95% of its market share due to the Blackberry Messenger and I am sure this trend will continue in the RIM pads also. And but obvious that for the BBM one needs a 3G connection.

Google’s Future Mobile(Android) plans

Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently stated that it does not intend to beat Apple but make something different that Apple has not made and provide it to the consumers.

Android 2.2 version is soon going to release and shall give stiff competition to Apple iOS 4 devices.Google CEO Eric Schmidt also made a very important statement

“The Google model is completely open. You can basically take the software – it’s free – you can modify whatever you want, you can add any kind of app, you can build any kind of business model on top of it and you can add any kind of hardware. The Apple model is the inverse.”

This is again the same old rivalry Apple Vs Google. Hopefully the consumers will benefit

John Terry scandal: 10 things you ought to know about Vanessa Perroncel

1) Vanessa Perroncel is a 33 year-old French model and an occasional actress. She stands 5’9″ in her tights and boasts vital statistics of34-24-34. She’s a UK dress size 8-10, and takes a size 6 shoe.

2) She has one child with Wayne Bridge – a boy with the in-no-way ridiculous name Jaydon Jean Claude Bridge, born in November 2006.

3) She has a penchant for letting miniature JCBs drive over her naked flesh. And, no, that’s not a euphemism, but rather a reference to the bizarre shots splashed all over Vanessa’s official website .

4) She starred in the 2004 movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s Phantom of the Opera . Well, when we say ‘starred’, we mean appeared for a micro-second in a role officially billed as “Candelabra Holder”, but that’s showbiz for you.

5) She can also be seen wearing not many clothes at all in the promo pictures of celebrated art-house smash Ali G Indahouse , although sadly we can’t confirm whether she’s in the film itself because… well, because we can’t find anyone who will own up to having actually watched it.

6) She had a much more prominent role in the long-running farce that was England’s 2006 World Cup campaign. Vanessa was part of the WAG pack who ran amok at the side’s Baden-Baden training base, reportedly blowing huge wads of cash on designer clothes, extravagant nights out and perfumes made from distilled unicorn tears. Or something.

7) Despite being a Frenchwoman who went out with an England star, she had no problems with split loyalties. Before the start of the 2006 World Cup, Vanessa told the Daily Mirror: “I hope England playFrance in the final, then I can’t lose.” Unfortunately she was spared such a fortuitous outcome by England being bobbins.

8 ) She once indulged Wayne’s Star Wars obsession by splashing out £1000 on an authentic stormtrooper outfit for him. Insert your own lightsaber joke here…

9) She reportedly split up with Wayne back in December 2009, blaming HIS philandering ways. “Players and friends led him astray,” she said. “He was going out more than he should have.” Forget spoons on your wedding day – that’s irony. Possibly.

10) Just like the footballers she likes to knock around with, Vanessa has has her own fan-made YouTube compilations. Proof, if proof were needed, that some people really do have too much time on their hands…

Women more forgiving of John Terry’s affair than men

A recent survey has revealed that women are more forgiving of professional footballer John Terry’s affair than men, with only a minority asking him to step down as captain of the England football team.

A poll of 808 adults on February 1 found that 51 percent of men believed the England captain should resign, compared with 41 percent of women. What do you think?
