…And Steve Jobs said bring it on! In a sensational turn of events, the beleaguered duo of Microsoft and Google, tired and fed up of seeing Apple reach new heights every now and then, have agreed to come together to tackle the dominance of the Cupertino giant.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Google Chief Eric Schmidt have penned a contract to fight together for a period of one year (term period expandable on mutual agreement) and build a “highly competitive and world class” tablet PC that will be “more than just an iPad killer” and will end Apple’s dominance in the tablet range of smart computers.
This decision of the two giants to come together to tackle a common enemy has been greeted with “utter shock” by some analysts on one hand, “it was deemed to happen sooner rather than later” was the general agreement of few others.
The main aim of this venture is to match, and better, Apple’s current offering – the iPad 2. And while the ‘killer’ is yet to hit the operation theater, it has already earned itself a name – MoGol.
MoGol will the first tablet to come out of this venture, and is expected to boast features such as a lightening fast 2.2GHz processor, dual cameras, Pixel Qi technology for better display, IPS technology, 2 USB ports and a SSD slot to expand memory.
2.2 GHz Snap Dragon processor
8MP front-facing camera and a 5MP cam on the rear
Pixel Qi technology for better visual experience even in thick sunlight
Apple’s famous IPS Technology
2 USB ports for easy external connection
Only 1 variant of MoGol with internal memory of 256GB
SSD Slot (memory expandable up to 128GB more)
The device is expected to be unveiled some time in Q4 2011. We’ll keep you updated.
Just remember today’s date — the auspicious day this deal came into effect 😉 😛
There have been reports flying in, from those so called “trusted sources”, that a Verizon iPhone is on the cards, come the end of this month. The “sources” claim a February 1st/3rd launch of the iPhone on Verizon”s network.
Talking of sources, while the Wall Street Journal claims, through a “person familiar with the casino matter”, that a Verizon iPhone will come become a reality “around the end of January”, the folks at Boy Genius Report, after calculating the permutations and past stats, are confident of a February 3 unveiling.
As far as the phone”s design is concerned, there are no new expectations over here, with Verizon likely to get the same design as the AT&T currently has. The only question here, though, is the uncertainty over the iPhone on Verizon being a GSM unit or a CDMA one.
Meanwhile, Reuters claims that “a source” has marked Tuesday, 1.11.11 as the date the Verizon iPhone will be announced. It will then go on sale in a “few weeks” they said.
It’s quite visible and obvious to everyone that both Nokia and Microsoft both have suffered very badly in the Smartphone market where the Apple iPhone,Google’s Android phones and RIM’s Blackberry have gone quite far ahead.
Earlier in September Nokia hired ex-Microsoft head of business Stephen Elop as Nokia’s new President and CEO.
There were earlier rumors that Nokia and Microsoft are having a collaboration in which Nokia would make Microsoft build more apps for Nokia devices. That was quite natural and nothing was surprising.
But the latest news(rumor) that we get is really very surprising. Nokia to make phones that will run windows 7. Awesome isn’t it?
Some Asian Countries, where Nokia dominates, with a improved OS maybe Nokia can come back into the smartphone business and get on top once again.
Time will tell how good the collaboration will be for each of them-Nokia and Microsoft.
For now people can only imagine a Nokia phone running Windows 7. Hopefully your imagination shall soon come true.

Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Aalesunds FK to sign Danish international goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard on a 3½ year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Personal terms have been agreed with the player, who passed a medical in Manchester. Anders will train with United during December, but will be ineligible to play until the transfer window opens in January 2011.
Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Anders is one of the brightest young keepers in the game. The challenge at Manchester United is always to look to the future and in Anders, we have signed a goalkeeper of great presence and even more promise. Having the time to train with him before he is registered will be an important period for him – almost like a pre season to get him integrated with the other players.”
Anders Lindegaard said: “Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me. The Club is such an institution in Denmark, it’s an honour to come here. I’m looking forward to playing and training alongside some of the great players in football today. I can’t wait to be part of this team and to make my contribution to keeping the team at the top of the game.”
“You will see us coming early next year with new phones,” Senior Vice President Eric Cador told an industry conference.
This certainly proves that new phones are going to come soon. It would great to see HP compete with the other smartphone brands in a competitive industry.
The news of new phone’s being launched by HP in early 2011 was long time ago, but the above statement from the Vice President confirms the news.To view some screen shots of the WebOs 2.0 phones click here
It is a rumor from a long time that Apple is soon going to come out with a new iPad which is going to create a next level in the Tablet Industry. With Blackberry’s Launch of a new 7 inches Tablet the competition will be cut-throat.It would take an prodigious effort by Apple to keep up with its reputation in terms of Tablets.
The latest rumor that we get from our source is that the new Apple iPad 7 inches will have a USB port , which means that you can connect your USB drives to it. Isn’t that truly amazing. This will also solve the problem of media storage on the iPad.
The most interesting part will be that does the iPad come in different Capacities because once if you can attach an external drive the original capacity does not make much sense whether less or more. Either Apple will put some limitations on the USB devices or Apple will come up with just one version. Let’s wait and watch.
You might be thinking there’s a next generation Apple iMac come in the US and will come soon to India so why should i buy an Apple iMac now but its the best to buy it now according to the exclusive analysis done by Firstain. Here is why you should buy an Apple iMac as soon as possible(For people in India only).
There is not much of a difference in the new and old Apple iMacs except for the processor (from dual core to i3) and from Geoforce graphic card to AMD HD graphic card. These things only matter if you are an professional. Rest all is same in the new Apple iMac. Just en-quired from Apple sales India that the new Apple iMac will be available in India within the next 15 days and shall cost around 74,900. So paying Rs.10,000 just for a processor and graphic card isn’t worth it(unless you are into professional graphics). And as said by the Apple sales person the old iMac which cost around 64,900 shall not be available after the next 10 days or so.
So its a suggestion to buy it as soon as possible if you want to be economical. If you have lots of money and want to enjoy Apple wait for the new Apple iMac to come .
