Park your Volkswagen with an iPhone with Valeo’s Park4U, be cool

Auto-part and equipment supplier Valeo demonstrated a cool variation of their automatic Park4U system at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt yesterday, showing how we can park a Volkswagen using their system.

Equipped with only the ability to brake and accelerate, CNET explains a “Valeo representative stood outside the car, a Volkswagen Sharan, and parked it merely by using an iPhone app.”

Recently, Bentley too incorporated a few Apple gadgets in their car — 2 iPads, 1 Mac Mini and an iPod Touch. In the past, too, Apple products have honored car functioning of major manufacturers. Seeing the trend, it won’t be long before every car comes equipped with Apple gadgets like iPad and iPhone built-in to enhance functionality and driving experience.

Futura 10 — A UFO-esque concept car that is lovable

Do aliens exist? Does an UFO exist? Well, it doesn’t matter any more as this out-of-the-universe concept car, which looks half a car and half an animal, is so cute that you’d want to ride one, irrespective of its unique and extraordinary form factor (which is a style statement, if you look at it!).

Branded the Futura 10, the car is inspired from the Boxfish — a cute and cuddly sea creature (if you can imagine a cuddly gill-bearing scaled vertebrate) that somehow looks more alien than fish. And if you have any doubts about its physicality, it has a strong structural presence and proven aerodynamics.

The car is designed by designer Nathaniel Lucero.

How many of you would like to drive one of these?

German luxury car-maker Audi has unveiled, or rather unleashed the new R8 Spyder — the second addition to Audi’s R8 series, and it is awesome-ly mind-blowing.

The two-seater sports car, which is priced at Rs. 1.47 Crore in India, is powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine, delivering 525 HP and litterally zipping across the road, taking only 4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kmph! Wow!

The car, with its top speed of 313 kmph and just 1.7 tonnes of hard-core sophisticated inners will make itself available to you for a drive from next month.

Audi India Head, Michael Perschke describes the car with: “immense power, eager response, powerful acceleration and free-revving” tags, adding that the A8 Spyder “will add to the spurring demand for excellence in auto performance and will allow us to build upon our leadership position in the super sports car segment.”

At present, Audi sells its sedans A4, A6 and A8, sport utility vehicles Q5 and Q7, besides the original R8, in India, one of the largest auto markets in the world.
