Cluzee for Android scares Siri, lets you ‘multi-task like a pro’ (video)

Apple doesn’t always innovate. Sometimes it just picks up an idea that is already available in the market, adds its own classy style to it and leaves it to its fanbois to make it the biggest thing the world has seen. Siri is one such example.

Siri isn’t the first automated voice control system we have seen. And to be honest, no one really cared to have one until Apple came out with Siri. Since its launch with the iPhone 4S, the so-called intelligent virtual personal assistant became a must-have feature for every smartphone-owning geek, propelling many a developer to hack it to do extraordinary things, and some to develop a similar thing for other platforms. Over the last 2 months, we had seen several Siri-like apps emerge on Android itself, but none even close to matching Apple’s sophistication on Siri. Today, though, Siri should be scared.

Tronton LLC has matched Siri for iOS with Cluzee for Android – an intelligent personal assistant that lets you, according to its introductory video, multi-task like a pro!

Cluzee is the closest competitor to Siri which matches it neck-and-neck and probably even outdoes it given the variety of commands it understands as compared to Siri. Apart from giving you personalized recommendations, daily briefs (based on entries in Calendar), weather information, navigation, standard web search, and local search — all of which Siri can do — it also gives you local news/traffic/deals, allows you to update your Facebook/Twitter account, plan vacations, plan how much you’re eating and compare it with time spent exercising, manage notes, etc. In short, it is a complete package which can leave many Android users joyous and iOS users envious.

Talk to your phone! I can help you save your time and money. Ask me to do things just by talking to your phone. Do Siri features in iPhone 4S excite you but you don’t own an iPhone? I bring conversational interface, intelligence and many more capabilities on Android.

You can download Cluzee directly from the Android Market on your phone, or from this link.

Domino’s launches new iPad app, allows you to design your pizza virtually then order it really (video)

Famous pizza outlet Domino’s has launched a fun and interactive new iPad app – Domino’s Pizza Hero – which lets customers design their own pizza virtually on their iPad and then order it in real life at just the press of a button. The app also has a game aspect to it, leaving you to compete against the clock and against each other on the leaderboards to create the best pizza. Once you’re done designing your pizza, you can order it using the “Make an Order” option on app which sends the order to your closest Domino’s outlet. A Domino’s rep did say, however, that there are limitations to what you can order — for instance you couldn’t order a pizza shaped like an Apple logo, even though that’d be really cool. Nonetheless, its a fantastic initiative from Domino’s to market themselves.

You can download the Domino’s Pizza Hero app for free from the App Store.

iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch get native Gmail application. Finally.

Google has finally released a native Gmail application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, just as we reported yesterday. The app, which is available for devices running iOS 4+, allows you to:

  • Receive notification badges for new messages
  • Read your mail with threaded conversations
  • Organize your mail by archiving, labeling, starring, deleting, and reporting spam
  • Keep track of important messages with priority inbox
  • Auto-complete contact names as you type
  • Send and receive attachments
  • Search through all your mail

Says Google:

We’ve created a new Gmail app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. We’ve combined your favorite features from the Gmail mobile web app and iOS into one app so you can be more productive on the go. It’s designed to be fast, efficient and take full advantage of the touchscreen and notification capabilities of your device. And it’s one more reason to switch to Gmail.

A full-fledged, feature-rich native Gmail experience was indeed missing on iOS. Thankfully, not any more.

twoppy: Create your mobile event guide for free

Have you ever organize an event and wanted to keep your visitors up to date on the event information? Have you ever visited an event and wanted to stay up to date on the event information? Meet twoppy!

twoppy is a fully self-service platform where event organizers can create an event app for free. Suitable for all kind of events like conferences, exhibitions and festivals, but also zoos, theme parks and museums.

What does it do?

The functionality in twoppy is all centered around the questions ‘who, what, where and when’. It empowers the organizer with a tool to keep his visitors up to date on the event information. Most events have problems bringing program changes to their visitors in real time. The commonly used printed booklets are mostly outdated the moment they are printed. With a mobile guide event organizers can present the information to the visitor in real time, and in the palm of their hand. Besides the realtime information another huge benefit of a mobile event guide is direct interaction between participants. Visitors can explore who’s also at the event and can send instant messages through twoppy. Of course people can also share information through their social networks and watch the event’s twitter stream.

How does it work?

Assembling a mobile eventguide with twoppy is really easy. As an event organizer you create an account via (for your convenience you can use Twitter, Facebook or Linkedin). Now you can add your basic event information like date, venue, and description. As you continue you add performer details and schedule information. By adding maps and locations you create interactive maps for people to make it easy to navigate.

Once completed the mobile guide is published through a unique URL ([yourevent]) so people can access it via their mobile browser.

All changes to the system are displayed in real time, so every change is updated immediately.

All the functionality is available for free. Premium features are available for organizers through different plans. Including app dashboard branding, partner list, csv upload, visitors stats, and pincode protection.

At this point twoppy is available as a webapp. In the near future there will be a iPhone app supporting native functionality like push messaging and offline browsing.

Ra.One launches iOS game!

The much hyped movie Ra.One, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, now has a game. The game is available for a free download and looks quite good from the screenshots. Its an action game which weights only 70mb so download wise it isn’t a headache.

The Ra One game is a 3D arcade action game developed by Indiagames Ltd. in association with Red Chillies entertainments Private Limited( a Shah Rukh Khan owned company).

One sad thing is that the iPod touch 3 owners cannot play this game as it is compatible only with iPod Touch 4,iPhone 3GS,iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S and requires iOS 4.3 or furthur.

The few reviews that we got say the game is amazing and a very good action game. Some also say it is the best iOS game made in India. I hope that those reviews are true. I have myself not yet checked the app out but will review it very soon @firstain. So keep visiting Firstain.

Facebook for iPhone updates to v3.5, rings in several changes

Facebook’s iOS app has been updated to version 3.5, bringing in several major changes with itself.

First up, and the most important of all, there is no iPad version as yet. And for those who alternated to FaceForward (jailbreak tweak) to use Facebook for iPad, the bad news is that Facebook has removed support for iPad in this latest update of theirs. This means since there is no support from the app itself then FaceForward cannot activate it. @Chpwn warns:

Facebook removed iPad support in their latest app update. It’s not possible for FaceForward to enable something that’s no longer in the app.

More here…

Coming to the iPhone, the update brings several changes, like:

  • Made it easier to share with who you want
  • Added the ability to tag friends and places in posts
  • Added the ability to share external links from a web view
  • Added new design for Profile and Group Walls
  • Improved the sharing tool to add privacy controls on posts and match your settings on the web site

Improvements and bug fixes:

  • Improved Notifications speed
  • Fixed a number of Chat bugs
  • Made it easier to select filters in News Feed
  • Fixed a bug with the Notifications bar disappearing
  • Fixed a number of Photos bugs
  • Improved performance and stability overall

You can download Facebook for iOS v3.5 from iTunes.

You can download it via Cydia. All you have to do is go to search and search for “face forward” and then follow the onscreen instructions.

I tried doing it just to see if it works and it works.Below are some screenshots.Do have a look.

How To: Record Skype calls on your iPad

Its merely been a day since Skype for iPad was launched and users have already begun searching for a way to record their Skype calls using their iPad. While there are numerous Skype recording tools available on traditional computers, iOS users have found little joy. Until now that is.

Recording your Skype calls on your iPad is, in fact, an easy task. More of a ‘smart’ workaround than an out-and-out solution. To get started, you’ll need a good voice recording tool (Quick Voice seems to be the most recommended). After that, you have to launch Skype and make a call, as you normally would. Then comes the big trick: Switch away from Skype, launch your recorder and start recording (Keep in mind that nothing will be recorded before this point). This method is the most easiest and most convenient one out there as of today for an app that’s just released yesterday.

P.S. As is obvious by now, this method uses your device’s built-in microphone and speaker to capture the audio. There’s no actual Skype integration involved. For this very reason there is only audio recording available for now. We hope to crack a video recording solution for you soon. Till then try this and let us know of your experience in the comments section below.
