This comes as no surprise to us: Apple have excluded iPhone 3G as a recipient of their increasingly popular AirPlay feature. This was announced by Apple with the release of iOS 4.2 few hours ago. The statement read:
AirPlay and Game Center are available on iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch (2nd generation and later).
Tata Docomo Launches 3G service in India. This is the first company apart from MTNL and BSNL and the first private company to start 3G services in India. 3G services can bring about mobile TV, High speed internet,Online Mobile gaming and a lot more.
Tata Docomo has announced that its users get to use the 3G services for free for 7 days and the tariffs for the 3G services will launch on November 11.
Just can not get to start off with the 3G services on Tata Docomo.
Tata Docomo has Launched 3G service in India. Well Done. Also this was amazing have a look here
I was using the Reliance Net connect today in the train and suddenly my phone got connected to 3G and i noticed it. I thought of using the 3G services and ya they worked.I could Video call a friend who too got connected to Reliance 3G too. After 2-4 minutes i again got connected to normal mode and 3G got deactivated.
I called up Reliance to ask that have they launched 3G and the answer I got was amazing-NO.
I think Reliance has already set up its 3G and this was surely a security loop in Reliance 3G tower which let my phone automatically connect to 3G.
I did not check my balance before so i do not know how much it cost for 1 video call per minute
Reliance officials said 3G will be launched in Diwali. I think me and my friends were the lucky ones.
Tata DoCoMo is all set to become the first private carrier to get 3G services in India after state owned MTNL and BSNL started the trend. This comes as a very good news for all Indians, and is the right step forward technologically for India.
The Economic Times reported that Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will be getting the 3G service by Diwali (November). And today, Tata has given us a date: November 5, 2010.
“Japan’s NTTDoCoMo has provided technical inputs to make our 3G network world-class. Progressively, NTT will bring various 3G products and services that it offers in Japan, such as i-modeTM, location based services and mobile payment and give our customers a flavor of tomorrow,” said Deepak Gulati, Tata DoCoMo executive president, mobility business division.
The coming of 3G service via Tata DoCoMo will bring in lots of advantages in India. Few of the benefits are: faster internet browsing, unlimited downloads, live TV, video-conferencing, video calling, etc.
3G services are being promised by many more carriers by the ending of 2010 but the arrival of 3G by Tata, who also specialize in CDMA handsets, could be a secret sign that Apple is indeed going for a CDMA iPhone in India. We just hope its true!
So you want an iPhone 4 only for the HDR image quality? Don’t worry spending the bucks, just follow the steps below and you could end up with Apple’s new HDR feature on your iPhone 3G/ iPhone 3GS.
Your iPhone 3G/ iPhone 3GS should be jailbroken and must be running on iOS 4.1
Make sure you have installed OpenSSH through Cydia. When it’s installed, SSH into your device (I recommend you also use the “passwd” command to change your password from the default “alpine”)
If you have an iPhone 3G, grab the file located at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N82AP.plist
If you have an iPhone 3GS, grab the file located at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N88AP.plist
Add a key named “hdr-image-capture” with a boolean value of “true” to the “capabilities” section of this property list
Save it, and use SSH to replace the copy on the device with your modified version
Restart SpringBoard, or just reboot your device. You should now have access to the HDR setting in the camera application.
The steps mentioned above are from RichyRich and therefore we at Firstain will not be held responsible for any damage to your phone. You are requested to take a backup prior to following these steps. You agree to perform the steps at your own risk.
iOS 4.1, as expected, is out today, 8th September and available for download. So plug in your iPhone – 3G, 3GS, 4 and/or iPod Touch – 2G, 3G, 4G to iTunes and download the update now, though i must remind you that it ain’t offering much apart from Game Center and a proximity sensor bug fix. But again, those the update brings to your device only 2 changes, both of them are huge and absolutely worth it.
P.S. If you’ve jailbroken your phone, then downloading this update might undo the jailbreak and that cannot be undone. So if you wish to remain with a jailbroken phone, it is advised not to update your device.
The iPhone 4 seems to be on a RAMpage here! Okay, i know its lame, but not the fact that Apple iPhone 4 will come in with 512MB of RAM – double than that which the iPhone 3GS ans the iPad have got. This means Apple’s iPhone 4 is now head-to-head with rivals Nexus One, EVO 4G and HTC HD2 (HD2 still ahead with 576MB RAM).
The Original iPhone (2G/EDGE) and iPhone 3G had 128MB RAM.
Apple went more competitive by doubling the RAM to 256MB for iPhone 3GS and iPad.
Now Apple is going for the kill with 512MB RAM for iPhone 4.
