If you guess Portland, Ore. and the actual answer is Salem, Ore. then Google figures out how many miles are between the destinations (it’s 60). Those 60 miles, or whatever they may be, are then deducted from your total miles. It’s already addicting and thankfully giving Angry Birds gamers something different to work at. Even though the miles don’t really mean anything, something about watching the number grow and shrink makes you want to seriously brush up on your geography.

Not too big, not too small: Does the screen size really matter?

The Google and LG bond just got stronger. Google is known for its classy Nexus series which are a class apart from all the other Android devices out there. What makes Nexus series devices an eye-catcher is its stock Android experience that Google provides. Nexus lineup is not something like Galaxy series of Samsung which has a new tablet or smartphone almost every quarter but again it is Google’s prodigy so there is hardly anything else that matters.

It is at this point that the new LG G Pad GPe (Google Play edition) that comes into picture. It is a cut between a phablet which has screen size of around 7’’ and a full size tablet having screen sizes starting from 10’’. The 8.3’’ screen LG G-Pad would be loved by the Android fans who just feel Nexus 7 a bit too small and a full size 10’’ tablet a bit too cumbersome to handle. The 4,600 mAh battery doesn’t disappoint either and lasts for 13-14 hours with normal usage which gets charged fully in approximately 2 hours’ time. 5MP primary and 1.3MP secondary camera will give you great photos and good video call quality while using Hangouts or Skype.

In a nutshell, LG G-Pad is a nice mid-range size tablet which comes with stock Android OS giving you almost immediate OS updates. With few muted color tones on the screen and bit of scrolling woes might force one to put it down. But if you think Nexus 7 is too small and Nexus 10 is too big and aging then G-Pad will be an experience which you will appreciate.
