With the final film in the Harry Potter series — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 — all set to hit theaters July 15, author J.K. Rowling has thrown up a huge surprise, possibly weaving the series wide open again.
The author continued with her magical creations by revealing a new website, interestingly called Pottermore. The website features a logo, J.K. Rowling’s signature, the message “Coming Soon”, and a link to a YouTube channel which features a countdown clock ticking away the seconds to an announcement Rowling will make at 7 a.m. this coming Thursday, June 23.
Digitalspy.com reports that 10 Harry Potter fan sites were each given clues that led to a letter in the alphabet. After all the websites pieced the letters together, they discovered Pottermore.com’s address.
A Twitter account has also been created: Twitter.com/pottermore. A tweet on the page declares, “Looks like the owls are getting ready to deliver some exciting news,” and directs visitors to Pottermore.com.
The odds are pretty high on J.K. Rowling extending the Harry Potter series by penning another book, but then again, it could also be a damp squib. What are your thoughts?
