What a start at the Lansdowne Road Stadium! The first match on the new ground was a treat to everyone, including the ground staff, as the world witnessed a demolishing performance by Manchester United.
The Red Devils beat minnows Airtricity League XI 7-1 in front of a packed stadium to prepare pretty decently for the upcoming Barclays Premier League season opener against Newcastle on August 16th. They face Chelsea in the Community Shield though before that game on Sunday, August 8.
