Wow! Who would have predicted this. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi on the field and Diego Maradonna off it, would be humiliated at the hands of the Germans.
Germany started very brightly, with Thomas Mueller getting on the score-sheet with just 3 minutes gone, heading the ball from 7-8 yards out following Bastian Schweinsteiger's free-kick.
The game was then evenly balance with Germany still having a slightly more upper hand as both sides went into the break with Germany leading 1-0. But what followed in the 2nd half was just.... unbelievable!
Miroslav Klose got on the act and netted Germany's second after some fine work from Lukas Podolski down the left. This was Klose's 51st goal in his 100th appearance for the Germans.
As if that didn't kill off Argentina's hopes, Friedrich's toe-poke, after some excellent work from man-of-the-match Schweinsteiger, put the game to bed.
Klose then grabbed his 2nd and Germany's 4th to put the icing on the cake! (Take note of that celebration)
