Microsoft have revealed the figures and by what we read, no one had expected this from them. Certainly not Apple.
Microsoft have managed to offload 150 licenses for Windows 7 to date, with an average of a whopping 7 copies per second! This certainly proves why Win7 is the fastest selling OS in history.
Earlier this month, we had seen a certain Mr. Steve Jobs of the Apple fame announce that the Cupertino Giants have sold around a million devices based on their iOS (iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch) in total since the iPhone 2G was launched way back in 2007. A great achievement right? Now compare that to the 150 million copies of Windows 7 which Microsoft have offloaded since October 2009. And we aren't even considering all the other versions of Windows.
The stats speak for themselves. In this battle of supremacy between the biggest two tech giants, one thing is for sure is that the customers will benefit. And if you thought that Apple taking over Microsoft as the biggest tech firm in the world was the end of Microsoft, then you were wrong. They are well and truly alive.
Extracts from the Official Windows Team Blog (selected quotes):
