Now this is news: Notion Ink's Adam Tablet PC will first launch in India and not in the US. It will head to the West during Thanksgiving season.
Notion Ink CEO Rohan Shravan to Technoholik: “Clear date will take a bit of time, but we are looking for India launch earlier than US.”
Change in Plans
The company had previously expressed its desire to launch first in the US. But "investor preferences" forced it to push the US launch to November - their Thanksgiving season.
Notion Ink CEO Rohan Shravan to Goodereader: “I am sad to say that I have to fight every day with them to launch by July end,” Shravan continues, “but they want us to hit markets only near Thanksgiving.”
It is also expected that the Adam PC will come loaded with Android 2.2 (Froyo) apart from already known features such as Pixel Qi Display, 3MP Camera, WiFi, etc. You can review all the features here.
India excited
Well yes, the excitement is there. But it would be wrong to say that the excitement exists only in India. The whole tech community is geared up for Adam and it is now everywhere regarded as the iPad killer, especially after this face-off between them in which Notion Ink's Adam outclassed Apple's iPad by quite a distance.
To sum up, the Adam Tablet PC is eagerly awaited by one and all and already seems to be in everyone's good books. But with a highly competitive market, which consists of competitors like iPad, JooJoo, etc., Notion Ink would certainly not want to get carried away and make sure when they come out, they beat their competition straight!
