After rumours circulating the web about the launch of a 64GB Zune HD soon, Microsoft have confirmed that it is actually launching one. Zune fans can get their hands on one come April 12th for $349.99 through Zune Originals.

Key Features

  • 64GB space (of course)
  • Up to 16,000 songs
  • 20 hours of high definition video from Zune Marketplace
  • 25,000 pictures
  • OLED multi-touch screen
  • Built-in HD radio
  • HD video out capabilities
  • Internet browser

Customers can customize their 64GB Zune HD through ZuneOrginals.com. Colors available: Platinum, Black, Blue, Red, Green, Purple and Magenta.

To compensate for a high price tag on the 64GB version, Microsoft have reduced the prices of the 16GB and 32GB devices with immediate effect. Both the devices have received a $20 cut. The 16GB device now costs $199.99 while the 32GB device costs $269.99.

Microsoft have also announced details of an upcoming firmware update which will add even more features to the device, such as Smart DJ auto-playlists directly on the Zune HD, ability to browse, stream and acquire music from Zune Marketplace on your TV (while the device is connected to a TV set through the A/V dock) and expanded codec support allowing users to play more video formats natively from the device.
