Liverpool thumped struggling Portsmouth to stay in touch with the teams chasing fourth place in the Premier League.
Three goals in a spell of six first half minutes from Torres, then Babel and then Aquilani ensured 3 points for Liverpool at that moment itself. Torres then added a 4th, deep into the second half, while Belhadj grabbed a late consolation for Portsmouth.

Alberto Aquilani scored his first Liverpool goal in his 5th start
