The fight has just begun!
Yesterday Apple filed a suit against HTC and we were wondering when will Google step in to HTC's rescue. Well, fear not, the wait is over. Google have come to HTC's aid with a fitting reply which just signals the start of a 'Giant' war.
Said a spokesperson briefly: "We are not a party to this lawsuit. However, we stand behind our Android operating system and the partners who have helped us to develop it."
Whether Google will now contribute money and/or manpower to HTC's legal defense or just keep a safe distance remains to be seen. But one thing's for sure is that now that they have opened up against Apple, Apple won't let them in peace so easily. All this just contribute's to an exciting duel between the giants.
Meanwhile, HTC gave their own reply saying that it "believes that consumer choice is a key component to success in the smartphone industry", and that it doesn't think the suit "poses a short-term material impact to its business".
Makes sense doesn't it seeing as it'll be weeks before HTC even files a response to the suit, and months -- if not years -- before it's resolved. We'll see how it goes.
