Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver

A new energy monitoring system developed by software company Pulse Energy aims to make the Olympic Games, which started February 12 in Vancouver, more efficient.

The software gives managers a real-time readout of energy consumption at all the seven venues. They can then make adjustments like turning off equipment that is not in use, to save energy.

Managers can also compare their energy expenditure among each other. The system will show the amount of greenhouse gas emissions avoided with the steps already taken by Olympic Games organisers.

Way to go i say!
