Many of you might not even have heard of this but, according to reposts, it has been already labeled as the i-Pad killer.
Being a tablet PC, comparisons with the iPad are inevitable but making such predictions has to be a brave call (or foolish?).

Launch
It will be presented to the world at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Adam has been developed in Hyderabad in India by Notion Ink. India has had a lot of success in the software industry but Adam might be the first big hardware product to make India proud.

Features
- The screen will be PixelQi Screen (10 inch) and will actually consume about a tenth of the power a Macbook’s screen does. This will also mean 10 hours of HD video being played without battery running out.
- It will have a Camera (something iPad still isn't sure) and will support connectivity with Wi-fi, 3G and bluetooth. It will probably not have a 3G version in India; as the infrastructure for 3G currently is not too enthusiastic for Adam.
- The best part is that Adam will come with a OS which is Chromium, Android and Ubuntu. This means open source and the source code will be made available for Adam for allowing a free hand to developers to make their own customizations to the OS.
- The browsers will be Firefox and Chrome and it will have support for Flash and Multitasking.

I guess Adam Tablet will be slightly cheaper than the iPad with the price range rumoured to be somewhere between $300 to $800.
Comparison with iPad

Ten reasons why we’re excited about Notion Ink’s Adam (from technoholik)
- NVIDIA Next Generation Tegra: Two ARM Cortex A9 cores (a world first) that promise an unimpeded browsing and media experience.
- PixelQi screen: It is easy on the eyes in bright sunlight and bright office lights. And it could potentially increase battery life between charges by a factor of five. When combined with the dramatic power savings that the Tegra chip can enable, this could be a game changer.
- 3.2 MP Swivel Auto Focus Camera: A Notion Ink patented design, this could lead to interesting cases of recording your meetings, lectures in High definition.
- At 12.6 mm and ~650 gms, this is one of the lightest and thinnest tablets around. Talk about size 0 for tablets.
- App store: With potentially plans for upto $1 million app developer contest, you can expect the app market to provide new and exciting applications that make full use of the Tegra 2’s Geforce level graphics.
- Flash: Acceleration support for Flash 10.1 means a never before seen experience for web content on mobile devices. (e.g. youtube and vimeo HD videos.) And those giving a presentation using Prezi will be able to render it at full quality on the Adam.
- Open: Unlike the Apple iPad, this is not a closed system. In the future, this device should also be able to run Google’s Chromium OS or Ubuntu. An Nvidia exec has confirmed that they are working on a Linux build that will run on the Tegra.
- Support for Multi-touch: Right now, the testing devices are running on Android 2.1. This means that the final release should be technically able to support multi-touch features (minus the Apple-owned pinch zoom) on all if not all apps.
- Voice Commands: It has voice command support, like the Droid and NexusOne.
- Expansion slots: It supports 3 USB , an HDMI port and an expandable SD card slot. Means docking to your HDTV and USB keyboard would be a breeze.
