From my personal experience I can only say that Techfest has been just like wine. The older it gets the better. Indeed no amount of adjectives would suffice the charm of this mesmerizing and dazzling event. Trust me it will never fail to catch your imagination. Right from the highly sophisticated competitions to the enlightening lecture series and exhibitions. The educative workshops to the electrifying shows courtesy Technoholix. It always is better than the last year. Thousands of Participants and excited audiences ranging in lakhs from all over the country and around the world witness this marvel.

I have just tried to give a glimpse of the numerous interesting things that await you at THE TECHFEST.

Eyewriter: Writing by eye movement might just become a reality. The Eyewriter is a collaborative research effort to empower people who are suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It is a low-cost eye-tracking apparatus and custom software which enables graffiti writers and artists — suffering from paralysis resulting from ALS — to draw using only their eyes. It is a part of the ‘nature and life sciences’ exhibits.

Techtronix: Robots with the ability to perform diverse tasks will be seen under one roof :

Naro

A robotic fish you can explore nature with. Copying the bodily movement of a fish, this robot can be the future of underwater scientific research and exploration!

Reely

Imagine a warm summer night spending time with your friends and a cold drink. Suddenly a film reel appears in the night sky flying in front of you showing some funny films. Wouldn't that be crazy? Reely is the realization of this dream.

Robolobster

An amphibian robot that emulates the movements of a lobster! These robots are based on a common biomimetic control, actuator and sensor architecture that features highly modularized components and low cost per vehicle.

Shrimp

A lot of outdoor tasks cannot yet be carried out by robots because of their poor mobility in rough terrain. Moreover, presence of stairs limits the indoor or urban use of mobile robotics. Shrimp, a highly autonomous robot is necessary to perform such tasks and is the future of planetary rovers!

Scintillations

Techfest 2010 brings to you an all new interactive night segment - "Scintillations". See, feel and experience your imagination come true at this segment of Techfest 2010!

FlickrGettr

An interactive installation of image and sound, immersing the viewer in a three dimensional cloud of user searched Flickr images.

The Sunlight Eiffel

Watch one of the seven wonders of the world reconstructed at the heart of IIT Bombay.

Light Ripples

Explore the relationship between the digital world, nature and human behaviour.

Mezatop

A laser light plane(LLP) illuminated multi-touch interactive surface.

This blog could go on forever, if i were to describe the entire TechFest. I believe that such things are not to be read, they are to be experienced. So have a visit to IIT-B to be stunned by the genuises of the country! But if you are intelligent enough to get bored in such a techfest, then Go-Karting in Hiranandani, Powai is always an option!;-)
