Avoid making your living room feel tight and cramped. Limit the furniture you place in the room, and pull in extra chairs only when you need them. With less furniture, the room will have more open energy and better traffic patterns.
Another way to organize the furniture in a large living room is by creating two or more sitting areas. For example, you can have a cozy window nook, a reading corner, a comfy spot in front of the fireplace with two armchairs and the usual sofa.
